holiday-time-consuming yet sad movies

hellooo everybody!!! hows it all going?

im fine here, me and my friends are having a long holiday (5-6 days) because my school is being used by the government for such a science Olympic and this is great hahaha. the Olympic actually takes 3 days from tue-thurs, but well i think we're all gonna take day-off on fri. good right? very good of course, because i havent taken such a long holiday since.......well since graduation hahaha. i know its not as long as graduation's holiday but this counts as a fun thing hehehe.

by the way i didnt know what to do to spend this holiday, so i decided to watch some ramdom movies. not really random, actually. its like watching movies i had never watched. its called watching new movies, really new movies yet old movies. uh you wont understand haha.

when i was looking for dvds from the dvds shelves, i found vcds of a movie ive been looking for. not really looking for the movie actually, more like looking forward to having the dvd haha. ok lets continue. thie movie is called Life Is Beautiful. some of you may have heard that before but some of you may have not.

the movie is about how to see our life and what includes in it, in the most positive way. like seeing a glass with syrup half full rather than half empty.

the story goes like this: Guido Orefice and his son, Joshua are two of many people who were taken to the concentration camp of Nazi. Guido doesnt want his son to know what was really going on, so he lied to his son that they were playing a game. Guido, Joshua, the other Jews, and the Nazis are the players. they all had to obey the rules of the game if they want to win the first prize: real tank. the rules was: no crying, no asking about mommy, and no asking for food when hungry. they all also had to play hide-and-seek with the Nazis. that way, Guido wants to show Joshua and us all to realize that life is beautiful, and it depends how we see it. life in that deadly camp was fun for Joshua, because it was no more than a game.

you know, i laughed when i watched this movie. i mean it. it is really funny and it really shows how to see life from the positive side possible. and i really love Guido because he is so cute hahahah funny too. you must watch it!

down with the Nazis, i wanted to watch any film that includes no Nazis-and-Jews things. so i decided to watch The Devil's Arithmetic.

but then i realized it is a Nazis-and-Jews movie thing. again. ugh but the movie is so good and so easy to understand so i decided to continue watching it.

the story goes like this (by the way im not in the real mood to type it down so i copied it from wikipedia hahah): This movie tells the story of a Jewish girl, Hannah, who lives in New Rochelle. Hannah is transported back in time to Poland in 1942, as World War II rages, and ends up in a Nazi concentration camp. In the process, she learns to appreciate and treasure Jewish customs.

yeahhhh so simple yet......short haha.

okay thats my story. why dont you share yours?

cheers, manda
